How we work.

Every partner has different needs. Our process starts with asking questions that reveal the particular circumstances, challenges and opportunities in each case. We are careful to apply our expertise but make no assumptions.

We then develop a tailored package of strategies and tools, and provide direct support to implement new ways of working and other recommendations.

Respecting the confidentiality and safety of our partners is paramount. For that reason, we can’t give details of specific projects, but types of support we provide include:

  • Providing external analysis of partners’ risk profile from physical, digital, environmental and wellbeing perspectives.

  • Supporting partners to conduct investigations using a wider range of methodologies which can strengthen their findings and analysis, and sharing these lessons with others in their field.

  • Developing strategies for addressing their risks effectively and proactively, in ways which align with wider organisational goals and values.

  • Supporting grassroots organisations and movements to implement realistic risk reduction measures in challenging circumstances.

  • Mapping existing expertise and opportunities for collaboration in the social change ecosystem, and building new relationships.

  • Working with funders to design support structures that prioritise partner safety and resilience.

  • Researching and analysing trends and patterns across multiple countries and sectors to inform strategic decision-making by organisations and funders.

  • Demystifying digital safety so partners can make pragmatic and informed choices based on their realities.
